At TeachUNITED, our core belief is that quality education is possible when students are taught by quality teachers. By providing training, resources, and long-term connections for teachers in underserved communities, we improve student learning outcomes.
- Training: Through supportive side-by-side and virtual coaching, skill-building toolkits, and innovative workshops, teachers learn how to create engaging, student-centered classrooms.
- Resources: Our tablet labs offer schools mobile, off-the-grid access to digital content that amplifies great teaching.
- Long-Term Connections: Because teachers in underserved communities are often isolated, we connect them with cohorts of other teachers, allowing for collaboration and ongoing peer support across geographic boundaries.
The Problem
Every child on the planet deserves access to an equitable and quality education. Yet 250 million kids around the world still leave school without critical reading, writing & math skills.
If current trends continue, by 2030 more than 750 million young people will not be on track to acquire basic secondary level skills. A global teacher shortage, estimated to reach 69 million by 2030, makes this learning crisis even more pressing. Without action, more than a quarter of the population in low-income countries — more than 1.5 billion adults — could be living in extreme poverty in 2050. Underserved and rural areas are the hardest hit.

The Solution
Our mission is to reduce inequality through education. By providing training, resources, and long-term connections for teachers in underserved communities, we improve student learning outcomes.
The TeachUNITED team has deep-rooted educational experience, allowing us to effectively transform schools across cultures. As a data-driven organization, we rigorously measure the impact and effectiveness of our program. Most importantly, our work is truly led by the local communities we serve, ensuring that they define success on their own terms.
The Result
By the end of 2019, 15,000+ children across three countries will be impacted. TeachUNITED students and teachers categorically outperform their peers.
- Our students report double-digit increases in 21st-Century skills.
- Girls in Tanzania showed a 2x increase in promotion rates.
- Students showed a 115% growth across all subject areas in US programs after just one year.

Our Vision
TeachUNITED’s focused efforts on quality education in underserved communities has the potential to transform the world as a whole. The model has positively impacted kids in vastly different communities on three continents and has the potential to scale and shift the quality of education for any teacher, any school, anywhere.
Sustainable
TeachUNITED partners with education stakeholders locally to ensure sustainable, systemic change can occur. Our partner schools have committed leaders and hard-working lead teachers who work side-by-side with TeachUNITED coaches. Coaches help the champion teachers integrate student-centered forms of teaching into the classroom experience. After the program, all equipment stays at the school and the champion teachers help mentor teachers at new TeachUNITED schools.
Locally-Led
TeachUNITED has developed strong local partnerships, including with local teachers, students, schools, universities, community groups, and government entities to ensure our model is both replicable and sustainable. Most importantly, our work is 100% led by the local communities we serve, ensuring that they define success on their own terms.
